I'm Louise Scott
Editor, Photojournalist & Tour Director at All Things French
I host 10-day retreats in the heart of the beautiful French Riviera staying in the fabulous Villefranche sur Mer.
Fly into Nice International Airport or arrive at Nice Ville. You will be met and driven along the French Riviera.
Stay in your *own room* in beautiful, quiet, well-appointed apartments with several other ladies. Unpack, relax, create and share meals, and discover this fabulous region together with our small group of 8 women (including moi! X).
Stellar restaurants are a feature of this small, private, shopping precinct which lines the shores of this breathtaking harbour.
We'll share our first breakfast at the celebrated 5-star Welcome Hotel.
Watch a few sportscars cruise past on the harbourside. Take in the views from this iconic spot. Many artists have stayed here - in particular Jean Cocteau who spent 'the best years of his lifetime' here. Some drawings are displayed in the hotel, and his pretty Chapelle de Saint-Pierre des Pecheurs is just across the road...
Arrive early to beautiful Eze and get it all to ourselves. Climb up to the ancient château footings and wonder at the Jardin Exotique d’Eze. Meander along the paths and delight at the extensive collection of desert and Mediterranean plants and sculpture. Enjoy coffee and croissants at the Chateau Eza, with panoramic views of the Mediterranean.
Delight in the little-known village of La Turbie. See the ancient ruins of the Trophee Auguste, the spectacular testament to the pinnacle of Roman occupancy in France.
Travel along the Moyenne Corniche and soak up unparalleled views of the Mediterranean, feeling like a movie star, sister…
Visit Menton on the Italian border and enjoy it at its finest. Then it's off to the medieval villages of Apricale and Dolceaqua in Italy. Enjoy a relaxed lunch at a stunning restaurant. It's one of the prettiest villages in the region.
Come home, drink a glass of wine, cook dinner with fresh produce, or choose to dine at any of the numerous local and *fabulous* restaurants.
Marvel in the incredible detail of Villa Kerylos, a residence faithfully dedicated to the ancient Greek style of living. After 6 visits to Villefranche, I finally saw this harbourside residence for the first time in 2017 ... Unbelievable mosaics ...
Visit elegant Beaulieu sûr Mer for lunch. Take a walk along the incredible St Jean Cap Ferrat and marvel at the distinguished residences there. Cap Ferrat is said to be the most expensive real estate in the world after Monaco. See David Niven's pink 'La Fleur du Cap' Villa sitting luxuriously on the water's edge. Oh! The stories...
"Louise is a gracious, funny, caring lady who went out of her way to make all the ladies on her tour to Villefranche so welcome. Everything was wonderful, I couldn't fault a thing. The villages we visited, the food (OMG), the walks, Loïc our driver, all absolutely amazing. I would go again in a heartbeat!!! Well done Louise".
"I knew, quite a few years ago, I would be taking a trip to France. I explored many, many options. When I came across Louise Scott's 10 Day French Riviera Tour, I knew this was the trip for me! This was Louise's inaugural tour and what a tour it was!!!!!
The itinerary was such that we had day trips to different places (all beautiful) with Loïc, our local tour guide (also beautiful), and had time to just explore Villefranche, either alone or with a buddy. The food! The wine! The views! The sea! The architecture! The history! Louise gave us a marvellous experience. We saw amazing things, people, and places. She was as attentive as she could possibly be, to all of us.
I can honestly say, this trip was the best 10 days of my life!
I'm so grateful that I found her!
Thank you, Louise ... for everything! I'm so hoping to go on another tour with you!"

Decisions...to drink wine at the funky bar with cool music, eat at the go-to French restaurant, or dine luxuriously on the harbour amongst the spellbinding lights and luxury yachts?
Drive westward along La Provençal to the market town of Antibes. Shop in the daily undercover markets and local boutiques, stroll deliciously quiet, prettily-paved rues, visit Absinthe Bar, or meander along the harbour.
Up early for this one, ladies! Discover St Paul de Vence, located on a rocky outcrop, this village was a royal fortress. Listed as one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, best get there early ... Experience utter silence (is it even possible as a tourist?) in my particular favourite, Tourrettes-sur-Loup.
Meander through Villefranche's small but delightful food and brocante markets, feel the history in the Rue Obscure, or tour the Citadel Saint-Elme
Relax on the beach, cook some food, or dine at your leisure in any of the superb and numerous harbourside restaurants. Hire a sun lounge and live the life.

"I have been to the area several times before, but this tour was on another level!
I have just returned from a wonderful 10 day tour to Villefranche-sur-Mer and the surrounding areas, with Louise Scott of All Things French. I was able to totally relax and immerse myself, as Louise has put together a great tour programme which - for me - included new places and some much-loved ones. The experience was further enhanced by Loïc our wonderful driver - a fountain of knowledge, charm, and fun all delivered in his gorgeous French-accented English.
Our group of 7 (including Louise) came from quite diverse backgrounds, but by the end of the trip we were new friends having fun together. The success of this tour is a tribute to Louise’s very impressive organisational skills and her attention to detail. We had nothing to worry about - other than making the most of each experience - with the spectacular views, picturesque villages, delicious food and wine, great accommodation, lovely company and fabulous quaint Villefranche-sur-Mer as our base.
Louise is just lovely - warm, outgoing, kind, and thoughtful. Nothing gave her more pleasure than seeing us enjoy the experiences she had planned for us. I highly recommend this trip to Francophiles and those new to France. I can’t wait to see what Louise comes up with for her next tour!"
